Horrible Gift Ideas

A running gag that exists in the Kokoro universe is that of Kocha's horrible gift ideas. For some reason, Kitenshi Kocha finds it incredibly thoughtful and unique to get people completely useless garbage and things they'll never need on gift-giving holidays. Characters have begun to recognize and dread her random presents, but she remains completely oblivious.

Examples of these gifts include an ugly lime green couch (for Mirror Mew Mew's Midorikawa Retasu), a washing machine for Kyr and a punching bag for Ryou. Generally, "things they will never use and do not want" is the key word.

The joke was inspired by the fact that, generally out of ideas, many authoresses, Jisu especially, have their characters give each other jewelry, games and other gifts that don't require a lot of thought. Kocha's "great" gifts are all gleaned from thrift stores and the Miscellaneous Articles section of the classifieds.

Jisu took so long giving Kocha an official birthday, and eventually made it a day that comes around every four years, because everybody would turn the habit back on her and she wouldn't know how to make such a volume of bad gifts still be funny.
