Following Marks example - Thx again :-)

I'm using Digitrax Zephyr / Locobuffer II / MacOSX

BTW, I'm not trying to hide behind 'admin' - It just kinda' worked out that way when I set this thing up.

Consolidate DCC Sites?

I was wondering what you thought about possibly moving the JMRI wiki to the DCCWiki site? Not merge them...but move it..

I was thinking something along the lines of having DCCForAll.com be a DCC resource or jumping point for DCC topics - using the forum or whatnot. From there you'd have the DCC wiki (wiki.dccforall.com). Then, there would be the JMRI wiki (jmri.dccforall.com). And, if any other groups wanted, they could have whatever.dccforall.com.. Perhaps a wiki for RR&Co, or whatever. Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?

On another note, I also have DCCWIKI.com, dccwiki.org, and dccwiki.info. Right now, if you type in http://www.dccwiki.com/DCC_in_the_garden it will automagically jump you to the http://wiki.dccforall.com/DCC_in_the_garden site and show whatever page you requested. Is DCCWiki.com easier to remember/type than DCCForall.com? I think it is. Perhaps we could do something like this:

Keep the DCCForAll.com site as it is. Then have the Wiki.dccforall.com/ website point to dccwiki.com (the reverse of what it's doing now). Then, we would have jmri.dccwiki.com (or .org or .info). It would all point to the same information page.

For example. If I type in wiki.dccforall.com/DCC_in_the_garden it would forward me to www.dccwiki.com/DCC_in_the_garden. If i typed in http://jmri.dccforall.com/ or http://jmri.dccforall.org/ it would forward me to http://jmri.dccwiki.com/ and show whatever page I requested. Also, JMRI.dccwiki.com is easier than www.editthis.info/JMRI/, but just my viewpoint.

My goal is to create a DCC community to share information easier. Right now, DCC information is spread all over the net. From various websites and mailing lists. I'm not finding any type of strong DCC community. That's the whole reason I started the DCCWiki.

Let me know what you all think. I think I'd be able to easily copy over the content from this wiki server to jmri.dccwiki.com . I haven't created the JMRI address since I'm not sure anyone wants this yet.

http://DCCWiki.com/ is now the only entrance into the DCCWiki. Dccforall.com has been released back to the wild and is no longer associated with DCCWiki.
