Talk:Main Page
From Jmri
No offence meant to the original author but what does everyone think about all the click 'here' style links? Take a look at Why "Click here" is bad linking practice for more information. Regards, Mark R.
Very good comment, and even better link - Thanks, I'll bear it mind. [And, no offense taken - If we're gonna do this, we're gonna need thick skin before it's 'right'!]
Most of the JMRI info is available on the JMRI site at sourceforge.net

Linking
So, I wrote a DP intro, but you couldn't get to it without going thru other pages :-( Bob's initial comments about keeping it organized seem very apropro right now - But I still think it can come together!
Last edit?
Soemone changed this page early this am - While I was excited that others were contributing, I don't think the change makes sense - Here's the before and after and if anyone disagrees, please change it back - But, for now anyway, I've reverted to the earlier verision:
BEFORE: Rather than trying this alone, I'm hoping to utilize the power inherent in the Wiki approach to get it done by the JMRI community at large.
AFTER: Rather than trying this alone, I'm hoping to utilize the power of the inherent in the Wiki approach to get it done by the JMRI community at large.
[I guess the writer read 'internet' rather than 'inherent'....]
Where to place link to external sites?
I see it's a new site, congrats! I don't know anything about JMRI, otherwise I would contribute. I was wondering, where could I place a link to the DCCWiki ([1]). Any ideas? For now, I'll create a simple "References" type page, which feel free to change/delete/whatever. TazzyTazzy 22:23, 13 March 2006 (PST)
