This Wiki is an attempt to document the JMRI suite.

Rather than trying this alone, I'm hoping to utilize the power inherent in the Wiki approach to get it done by the JMRI community at large. We don't (yet!) know whether this will work, but I reckon it's got to be worth a try......

Remember, anyone can edit these pages, so please feel free to make any corrections and/or additions as you see appropriate - It's really easy and hopefully someone will learn something from whatever you write! Conversely, if we get 'attacked' the Wiki will allow us to roll it back to a known sane state, rendering these kinds of attacks pretty unsatisfying to the bad guys! - Hopefully it won't be necessary to put any security restrictions on any of our pages, but we'll just have to wait and see. --Ian 11:34, 13 February 2006 (PST)

Can I try the program without any layout connection?

What do I need to run JMRI?

Assuming you've visited the above and determined that you have the necessary prerequisites the next thing is to connect it to the command station, or the dummy hexfile. Instructions on various configurations follow:

  • Hexfile (for testing) is here.
  • Mac OSX with Digitrax is here.
  • Please add others!
