Hopefully the remaining options can be figured out from a combination of your user manuals and common sense! [No offense, but if you don't know what command staton you're using we probably can't help :-) ]

Once these are set appropriately, you should be able to get to the 'start screen' shown in the [[DecoderPro]] page without either option being 'greyed out'

Second - click on Edit then Preferences to open the Preference selection window.

The Layout connection box should show 'none' to indicate that you have not yet selected the interface device which you are using to connect JMRI to your Command Station/layout.

Click on the arrow on the right side of this box and use the drop down items to select your interface device.

The serial port box should show 'none'. This indicates that you have not yet selected the com port by which your interface device is connected to the computer.

Click on the arrow on the right side of this box and select the appropriate com port.

The Baud Rate section should not normally be changed.

The Command Station type sction should be chnaged to reflect which Command Station you are using.

The GUI Style section determines how the program will look on your commputer screen. This can be set as you choose.

The Programmer defaults: Format selection must also be completed depending on the interface you are using. For most users 'Comprehensive' should be selected.


When you are finished click on Save.

At this time you should Quit and then Restart the program.
