Job - Capacity Building Adviser, Progressio, Dili, East Timor (Timor-Leste):

-- Based in Progressio's Dili office, the postholder will build the capacity of local civil society organisations (CSOs). The major component of this role will involve improving research and analysis capacity. Additionally, he/she will develop strategic planning, improving organisational systems, policies, networking, monitoring and evaluation and helping to develop individual staff competencies to help meet their particular organisational aims. The postholder will also assist Progressio's Timor Leste staff in improving the response to meeting the needs of a rapidly changing society.

-- We are looking for an innovative and creative individual able to handle the challenges inherent in a newly emerging country. You will have a diploma/degree in sociology, political science, humanities or related field, and / or training in specific aspects of community development. You will have a minimum of three years' work experience with civil society organisations in a project / programme / management capacity or similar; and of direct experience in building the capacity of CSOs in strategic planning, report writing, participatory monitoring and evaluation, networking and developing partnerships. Experience in providing training and technical assistance in research and analysis (in jargon free language) is also essential.
