Read OUR OPINION: Smart growth vs. sprawl.
a) What are the issues and problems?
Sprawl vs. Smart growth, when a community doesn't take thought and planning in its development. This results in excessive pollution, wasted gas money, and limited areas to expand.
b) If this where happening in your community, could you think of any positive or constructive resolutions?
I think our community does suffer from a little misplanning. I think if cabs and taxis were kept up and used more families would benefit, also if we would be more cautious of our polluting it would help our community.
Read Scientists Hail San Francisco's Significant Natural Resource Areas Management Plan.
c) What are the positives of the plan?
The plan maximizes protection with limited resources while balancing the need to protect natural resources with other public uses.
d) What are the problems with the plan?
The plan could improve by looking into the significant risks to natural areas posed by invasive species, off-leash dogs, and feral cats.
e) Do you think this is a possible solution? Why or why not?
I think this may help the species and plants but the community will have to sacrifice a little because there will have to be boundaries set up to protect both the people, and the species. You can't just let dangerous animals loose in a populated area without providing shelter between them and humans or people will get hurt.
