Smart Growth Vs Sprawl Is the issue. Sprawl happens when a community fails to plan and gives no thought to the character it wishes to build. Where smart growth offers commuters more transportation choices. Also pollution is another problem with sprawl, it negatively impacts the whole environment.

I don't honestly have an opinion on the matter but on the surface it seems like Smart Growth would be the best resolution. Public Transportations like buses are a huge carpool thats cheaper and saves people money on the high gas prices.

The positives of the plan are helping your natural resourcesare by protecting endangered animals and plants in the area.

The problem with the plan is that the Natural Areas Program cannot protect urban nature without accommodating all forms of recreation enjoyed by the public without restriction. If the area is exposed to humans, there is a chance the area will not be perserved. Also off-[[leash dogs and feral cats can kill these endangered species.

I think that it is a possible solution if the community is willing to adjust their standard of living in order to make it work. In some cases it may be highly difficult to get the community to cooperate but in others it may be simpler.
