Description

Lurk Fields are the stealth technology of the D.O.D. All ships of Gunship size and up have one fitted. It what allows the DOD to move about unmolested by their enemies.

However, Lurk Fields aren't Star Trek style Cloaking Devices, thus have a number of limitations. The biggest is they can easily be penetrated by active scans, unless the Field in question is very powerful. Therefore, though Lurking ships can move about the vastness of space undetected, they can't 'cloak' in battle. They also can't get through heavily guarded areas or up to close to enemy ships.

However, as stated, the Fields to come in different strengths, so the above is not always true...
