Laura Bates

From Egs Mayhem

Brief Description

Laura moved to Mayhem 11 years ago, having been born in Cambridge, England. Nine years ago she joined the police and has recently been promoted to Detective Inspector of the plain clothes division, which involves mostly undercover work. For example, posing as a tax inspector while looking for other forms of corruption.

She did serve in the Defence Force during the war, but left to rejoin the police after the EOU were defeated.

Physical Description

Laura is a 30 year old human female. She has black hair, worn in a bushy ponytail, black eyes and dark skin. Her build is slim, but athletic. Think Rally Vincent from Gunsmith Cats, but different hairstyle. And older.

Personality

Laura is a dedicated detective who loves her work. She is ruthless and very willing to Vamp her way to success. In fact, she considers that to be a perk of the job, as she's both promiscuous and bisexual. Despite this, she has a steady girlfriend.

Other than her sex life, Laura has two other "vices", though she doesn't think of them that way. First, she's a lover of fine food and can be a bit of a glutton in this regard. The other is her passion for vintage cars, both driving and working on them. In fact, she owns a 1963 Ford Cortina that she has heavily modified and upgraded herself. A side note, she also likes nostalgic clothes, but to the same extent.

Politically, Laura is an unashamedly Fascist. She considered the Defence Force's takeover to be a good thing. In fact, she didn't think they went far enough, as the police and other such services are still civilian. However, she doesn't agree with one person dictatorships and obviously is a lefty when it comes to civil liberties and personal freedom.

Finally, Laura has a bit of a temper and is an strong believer in Atheism, to the extent that she thinks all religions should be banned. Not that she doesn't believe in the Supernatural, that would be stupid in Mayhem. No, she just thinks that everything should be approached with a scientific mindset, and just because something is "a god" doesn't mean it deserves worship.
