SCP-113.4-4CHAN
From Database
Item#: SCP-113.4
SCP-113.4 is not allowed to be photographed due to the fact it would have to have direct light applied to it, there by making it reflect. A simple explanation of SCP-113.4 is that it is an everyday bathroom mirror recently taken from a family who' second youngest child has disappeared, all signs of the boys whereabouts point towards the mirror being related.
SCP-113.4 is actually the fourth item in a group of 11, each of the mirrors popping up in different areas of the world. All of the mirrors seem to include the disappearance of someone who possibly owned the mirror.
All 11 mirrors are held in a multi-walled building that is located in a large subterranean cavern some 3 miles into the earths crust. The entire cavern is left in complete darkness all the time. The few people who work in the cavern make use of thermal vision goggles and infrared lights to illuminate the area.
The multiple walls, of the building located within the cavern, are to make sure that absolutely no light can reflect off of the 11 mirrors. There are 3 separate rooms that lead into the main holding area to make sure no light shines in when anyone enters. There should be no reason to go into the room except that every two weeks a one agent team must enter the chamber to test for absolutely any ambient light within the room.
This is accomplished by using light measuring devices which are located around the outside of the storage facility in the underground cavern. And the use of a powerful flash light which is battery powered and the agent will take with them into the room. The basic procedure is that the agent enters the room and turns the light on and shines it around the room and the light measuring scopes outside of the building check for even the tiniest light coming from inside the building. Because if the light comes out it can come in. The reason a light cannot be installed into the room is because running wires into the room would chance light entering the room so a battery powered device which is charged outside the room is used instead. And generally leaving ANY light source in the room is highly restricted.
The process takes only a few minutes due to the fact that the flashlight is extremely powerful and uses the battery in minutes as both an efficient use of the flash light, and a safety precaution.
There is no actual explanation as to what is "in" the mirrors. But from what three of the agents who have been assigned to that particular duty have said the brightness from the flashlight blinds them for the minute or two they are in the room and never actually see anything but what they hear is apparently worse.
As a side note it was mentioned the battery dies after a few minutes due to efficiency and a safety precaution...
more than 20 agents have been assigned to light the room, only 3 of those agents are still living.
