You raise your hands in the air. You say, "I surrender." A policeman walks over. He cuffs your hands behind your back. They drag you out to the squad car after reading you your rights. You are interrogated by the police. You leave out no details about the rape and murder of the five-year-old girl. The state sets up a trial. You are offered a lawyer. You refuse the lawyer and wish to represent yourself. Your court date is set for six months in the future. You stay in this body that entire time. Jail life is not so bad. You get three meals a day. You are allowed television because of your good behavior. You see your face all over the television. You are the defendant in the trial of the century. Your trial will be televised. The media absolutely hates you. They want the death penalty. You get at least one hundred hate letters per day. You spend some of your time reading them all.
The six months has passed. Today is the first day of your trial. You smile and wave to the camera. You walk into the courtroom. You are seated in the courtroom. You still are defending yourself with no lawyer present. They will absolutely slam you if you continue to defend yourself.
