You decide that Mei-Kou probably knows what he's doing and hold tighter to him, clamping your eyes shut.
The wind howls in your ears as you fall, drowning out Mei-Kou's chant. A moment later, the wind on your face slows to a bearable level, and you open your eyes again.
You are still falling, but now...both you and Mei-Kou seem to be sheltered inside a giant sphere-barrier of sorts. The walls of the barrier look like glass and are semi-transparent - you can still see the fast-approaching ground as you plummet toward it.
"Mei-Kou," you murmur into the man's ear, glancing back to him. "What did you do?"
He stops chanting, a strained look on his face. "I made...a barrier. It should...keep us safe..." He breathes heavily, and beads of sweat begin to roll down his face. "Don't let go of me, no matter what...okay?"
You nod, unable to reply, and adjust your grip on him. Above you, you hear Gragonith's frustrated roar, and you know that he will not reach you in time. The ground is so close...you see that you are going to land in a lush field... For a moment, you marvel at the view. You can't help but feel a bit envious toward the birds that get to see this every day.
Then, the space between you and the ground is no more, and you and Mei-Kou crash into the field. A plume of dust and rocks flies skyward, and your world fades into darkness.

"Marlumi...Marlumi, please wake up..."
You feel a warm hand on your shoulder, and hear a gentle voice calling your name. Who is that? Mei-Kou? No...
You open your eyes slowly, wincing in the bright sunlight, and taking a sharp, painful, breath. You lay on your back in the cool grass, staring up into the dark eyes of a female you don't recognize. She smiles at you and sits back, her fluffy auburn hair shifting around her face as she does.
"Ah, good. I was worried that you weren't going to wake up. How do you feel?" Her voice is gentle and soothing, and she never stops smiling as she speaks.
You sit up slowly, wincing as you move. Your entire body feels bruised and battered, which it probably is... "Where's Mei-Kou?"
Finally, her smile drops. "He's...over there, with Gragonith and Celestia..." She glanced off to her left, biting her lip. "You really should rest...but if you want to go see him I won't stop you."
Your body aches everywhere, but...Mei-Kou saved you. You should really go seem him...
