WAS: Quietly sneak away avoiding confrontation with the troll

On all fours you quietly crawl backwards. You can see how the troll opens its giant jaws then takes a bite from the dead bandit. It eats him and it could eat you to. You take your horse with you and begin traveling in the opposite direction. Better to be lost in the swamp than being eaten by an hideous troll.
Another hour passes and your frustration continues to grow. When your mind is stuck on saving the princess the body gets a big edgy. You desperately want some action even if it means running into another troll. Its then that you notice the odd stench. More worrisome is the fact that your horse is getting frightened. He refuses to continue on but remains silent. This is a well trained horse who knows that he cannot make any sound or else the enemy might hear him. But his fear he cannot control.
You dismount and realize that the enemy might be closer than you think. Maybe they are watching you right now? Whatever it is they are bound to be close; maybe you should climb an tree and find out? Or you could continue on foot if you like.
