When practice finishes, many of the boys grab water or head back to the school to shower or change clothes. You make your way into the group and pull the cornerback aside.
"Good afternoon," he greets you, somewhat wearily. He's still breathing heavily from practice, but he doesn't seem too bothered to be speaking with you.
"Hey, there, buddy." You're warm and friendly, and clap him heavily on the back. He stumbles forward slightly, seemingly unable to bear the full weight of his gear. "I was hoping I could speak with you for a moment, uh...?" You look at him expectantly.
"John," he replies. He's still smiling, still running high on adrenaline.
"Well, John... I have something to ask you," you start.
