Slowly emerge from the brush

You are about to emerge from the brush when the thing that they are hunting swoops down and attempts to take a bite out of you. It tackles you and you tumble backward towards David's position. You think you are about to undergo a death as painful as Brooke's but then you are saved.
The two contestants spray the demon with bullets until it dies shrieking louder than ever.
The demon slumps backwards and bleeds out slowly, covering the grass with a black substance.
You give your thanks to the two contestants and tell them that you need help getting your friend to the Cape.
"Wait a second," one of them says to you. "The Cape isn't safe right now. Some greedy survivalist assholes are taking shelter there, Mitchell Small's gang-"
"And anyone who works for him." the other person, Vannessa Smarth, finishes.
After aquainting yourselves with CJ and Vannessa, you lead them to where David is.
When you get there David is fine but three dead bodies lie in front of him. You don't bother asking what happened and CJ begins carrying the wounded David.
Vannessa uses her AK-47 to clear a path in the mine-field and it appears that everything is going as planned.
Until, that next morning, you reach the Cape.
