You walk over to the clipboard at the foot of the bed you woke up in. You notice your name scrawled across the top of the paper in red ink. As you examine the clipboard you note that it appears to be a log with an entry for every day. You are taken aback by the sheer amount of entries. Unless someone was playing some cruel prank, you had been in the hospital for over fifty days. A shiver shoots up your spine and a searing pain digs into your skull. After gripping your head you begin reading through the entries.
Day 1 - Patient is in a comatose state. We are restraining him in case he wakes up.
Day 2 - Patient is still in a coma. Remind the janitor to lock the door when he is finished.
Day 3 - No notable changes.
Day 4 - No notable changes.
Day 5 - No notable changes.
Day 6 - Hasn't been able to keep food down.
Day 7 - Any food we have given him through the feeding tube has been vomited back up.
Day 8 - Still working on keeping food down.
Day 9 - Patient showed signs of waking up. Screamed "Elizabeth" and fell back into a coma.
Day 10 - Patient is able to keep food down again.
Day 11 - No notable changes.
Day 12 - No notable changes.
Day 13 - No notable changes.
Day 14 - No notable changes.
Day 15 - No notable changes.
Day 16 - No notable changes.
Day 17 - No notable changes.
Day 18 - Reminder: Switch pillowcases twice a day due to the patient's excessive drooling.

Day 22 - Patient is acquiring bed sores. Remind nurses to flip him every few days.

Day 25 - One of the nurses noted that the patient's eyes are moving underneath his eyelids. Possible REM-type phenomenon.

Day 29 - Patient has opened his eyes, but shows no sign of responding to anything.

Day 34 - Patient bit through the feeding tube. Wire his mouth open after the next one is inserted.

Day 38 - Patient has drawn his own blood by digging his fingernails into his thumb.

Day 41 - Patient tipped the bed over. Shows signs of waking up soon. Anchoring the bed to the floor may be required.

Day 44 - No notable changes.

Day 47 - Patient is once again unable to keep down food.
Day 48 - Please refrain from using the bathroom sinks to dispose of the vomit.

Day 50 - It has been determined that the patient should not recover. Do everything in your power to prevent that from happening.
Day 51 - Electro shock therapy scheduled for tomorrow.

Was this what you had gone through? You don't know what to say as you sit down with the clipboard in hand. You are startled when you hear the door unlock loudly. You jump and your eyes remain fixed on the door. You can see a dark figure move away from the door through the tiny window in the door, but can't determine any more then that.
