A solid stone bridge leads you over a lake by two rising cliffs. Midway along the bridge you stop to admire the view. Glowing specks dance over some water flowers as they float along the lake's surface. Somewhere you hear a tree collapsing, perhaps from the other path...good choice.
Suddenly a downpour. Rushing across you take cover under your jacket until you reach a nearby tree. Taking shelter in its hollow you watch an Oddish and a Poliwag play close by. You notice that the lake is connected to a stream. Trying to follow it with your eyes, you lose sight of it as it curves beyond some trees.
After a solid hour, the rain starts to ease. The Oddish and Poliwag have hidden away again, and the lake is teeming with Magikarp and Goldeen. Flying above, Butterfree greet them. Continuing on your way, you soon start to see small cottages or buildings covered by crawling vines. A coble stone path leads up to some of the houses, but otherwise its mostly just grass and dirt. At the far edge of the town you see a lone cottage by a gushing waterfall and a gentle stream. Rushing over, you notice the sign 'Pet Store'. Yep, this is definitely the place. Looking down, a wide glass panel has a Slowpoke just staring at you. Inching away you head inside.
The resonating chime of a bell. An elderly woman in an apron turns around, halting her sweeping.
"Why hello young man" A pin on her apron reads 'Nerei'. You raise your hand to signal a hello. In front of a second glass panel, an Eevee calls out. Atop the front counter a Meowth sits eying the Goldeen and Magikarp in the tanks by the side of the shop. A Pidgey flaps around the room whilst a Nidoran(M) scampers around on its wheel.
"Oh hush now everyone, we have a visitor. Sorry about that. Now. Are you here to take a Pokémon home with you? or perhaps utilize the Daycare service?" Nerei asked. Shaking your head you present her with an Ultra ball and tell her its-
"My. It's from Samuel!" Nerei exclaims
"That gold sticker atop it is quite telling. Please, follow me. This way"
Leading you outside, to the back, a vast field filled with flowers stretches out. You see that the waterfall also forms a stream here. All sorts of Pokémon frolic about.
"Ahh, here it is" Nerei reveals a glass case in the shape of a dome. Atop it, two charms gently dance in the wind, one oval shaped, the other, star shaped. Its base is the same gold as the sticker and a pillow lies atop it inside. Resting on the pillow a Mauve-Blue egg with a Creamy-White underside.
"Here you go. It's all yours" Nerei holds out. Just as you reach out your hand you hear a shout
"Stop Right There!" turning your head you see a teenage boy with deep blue hair in a long coat, singlet and joggers atop the waterfall. He jumps down and walks casually over
"So. The old Jigglypuff has finally chosen a trainer, well, hate to break it to you, but that egg's mine! If you want it, battle me for it!" the boy demands
"Ahh, why it's my Grandson" the old woman greets cheerfully
"Nice to see you again Thomas"
What do you do?
Pokemon:Snitch. Tell the kindly old lady everything
Pokemon:Battle. To spare the old lady's feelings for now. (but maybe break it to her gently later)
