You clean up, put everything back, and slip back out of the house. You still have five hours before you're expected home from school.

You order a slice of pepperoni and a cup of Sprite, receive them, then look around for a spot to sit.
A plump girl who looks to be just a whisker older than you, perhaps Valerie's age, is smiling at you and trying to catch your eye. Her brown hair is curly and shoulder-length.
A very skinny woman who looks to be in her late 20's is staring morosely at her food, not eating, but muttering to herself. Her hair is short and red.
