Leave Pallet Town and go to Viridian City

On your way to leave your home, you see someone with a Pikachu. Preparing for a battle, you walk up to them.
"Hi, I'm Ash Ketchum!" he says, shaking your hand. "Me and my partner Pikachu here are planning on travelling Kanto and becoming Pokémon Masters! Would you like to come?"
"Of course," you say. Smiling, Ash gives you Ten Pokéballs.
"Here you go! That should do. There's a Pokémart up past Route 1, right before Viridian Forest."
And so the two of you set off onto Route 1. You see something in the tall grass - it's a Pidgey!
