You lie down, exhausted, and Katy nestles against you.
"Mmmm," she murmurs.
You nudge her head onto your chest and just lie still, holding her.
She caresses your face. "Thank you."
"I'm glad to be here," you whisper. You fall into a semi-doze.
Katy's parents arrive shortly afterwards.
"Staying for dinner?" Mrs. Haas asks kindly.
Your eyes flicker open.
