There are things you wish you could have picked right, and there are things you wish you could have done better. Since your divorce you can only remember how it started with your powers. You wanted to have fun and you found a girl you're interested in. You want to give it a shot at this and it was a good ride. You even got married in a small chapel, and you have a daughter, who had recently turned 15. Not a bad thing to have, but you see Anna starting to behave differently. Wondering why she would be instantly be interested in you, and she's starting to feel like she's being controlled somehow. Truth be told you never once told her about your powers or how you manage to persuade her or anybody else to begin with. Since then it grew into an argument to the point were she wanted a divorce and you out of the house. Now you live in a apartment big enough for only one person, but you can't help but feel the urge for some pussy, but you rather not make any mistake as your lawyers advise you to not to do anything rash until the the procedure hearings are set. Since Anna has an aggressive male lawyer being presented to the court you've manage to lose some custody of certain things, but the only thing you have not been limited to is seeing your daughter a few days a week. Today is such visit as you open your front door and see her quietly standing as she came from school, but noticed a sleeping bag with her
You: Afternoon Katie
Katie: Hi dad. Good to see you again
You: Is something wrong? What's with the bag?
Katie: Mom dropp me off after telling me it's okay that I spend the night here. She's going to be with that lawyer of hers all night
You: Brandon? Are you sure?
Katie: She seems happy. Happy enough that she wants me to spend time here
You: ...
Katie: I won't get in the way with what you're doing dad. I got some home work that I need to work on
You: Alright. You want me to help you?
Katie: No. It's okay. I'll be fine
You see your own daughter appearing quite distraught by all this, and you worry for her if she will be alright
A couple of minutes later:
Katie is wearing a pajamas as she finished her homework. You then brought food for the two of you to eat on the couch while watching TV, but you see Katie with an upset face as you point out to her the importance
You: Katie
Katie: ...Yeah dad?
You: Whatever happens just know that you'll still come to me if you need anything. I'll be here for you
Katie: Mom said she's going to put a restraining order on you. She wanted you out of our lives
You: I can still patch things up with your mother. It's just going to take some time
Katie: And if it's too late?
You: It won't be. Trust me. Have I ever let you down before?
Katie: ...No. You've always been there for me
You: Because I would do anything for my little girl. Even protect you from bullies
Katie: Heh. I remember what you did with Billy. It was funny that he was eating dirt
You: Heheh. I remember that one. That boy always put your face in the dirt in your soccer match
Katie: Yeah. His mom freaked out, but he never picked on me since then
You: Good to hear. Glad that problem was fixed
Katie: ...Why did mom do that?
You: ...It was partly my fault. I should have done better, but she's not having it from me. Even though I wanted to fix things
Katie: ...
You: You don't worry. I can still fix this and we can be a family again. count on it
Katie: ...I don't want you gone dad
You: ...I'm not going anywhere. Not without you
Katie: ...
In an unexpected turn of event, Katie moves closer and climbs on your legs, which caught you off guard as she hugs you
You: Katie?
Katie: ...Remember when I was little and I wished that I would marry you
You: ...Heh. I remember. It was cute, but also sweet. Made me wish it never stopped
Katie: ...
You: ...I'm glad I have you as my daughter
Katie: I'm glad I have you as my dad...I love you
Hearing those words from her you can't help but feel touched by this. Despite your differences with Anna you always had a special connection with your daughter as the one good thing you got out of it. You hugged her back and you held her tight. Feeling a sense of comfort when you're with her. Even though you're her father your feelings for her grew more nurturing. The desire to do whatever you could for her and more. Your heart beat as you held her tight. Refusing to let her go as you want to be with her. Your hand moves down and you slowly stroke her as she looks at you directly
You: ...I love you, Katie
Katie: I love you too, dad. And I'll never think bad of you
