History
Carla left the town of Mistyhill Creek five years ago, after ending a relationship she was having with a well off gentleman from the university when she graduated. She had aspirations of becoming independent and being in charge of her own life which didn't seem possible at the time staying here. She has till now been employed in small newspaper in a coastal town about half a days drive from Mistyhill Creek. Now she has the opportunity to join a magazine company in the city, in a position that should allow her to express herself a lot more. So she is currently travelling to the city for her interview tomorrow afternoon and is passing through her home town once again.
Things seem familiar but somewhat altogether different. While she remembers much of the town, it seems to have forgotten her, and she doesn't recognize anyone, which is odd.
The Royal Rose Hotel, was where she celebrated her graduation with her then suitor, a night which turned out to be her last in the town.
She never knew her father, her mother had said he was a sailor who she had had a one night stand with. Three weeks before Carla's her graduation her mother decided to elope with a man Carla had never met, her mother said that the rent was paid up till the end of the month, she had done her job as a mother and deserved a chance to "see the world". As upsetting as it was at the time Carla still receives post cards from her mother from different places around the world from time to time.
