Go to the Mountains and evade contact

Studying your map, you idenitfy the mountains and walk west. You hear more gunshots coming from behind you but you're not ready to engage anyone in a fight yet. After 20 minutes or so, you arrive at the mountain.
Huh...Looks more like a hill than a mountain...but I see a cave! That would make a nice safe point. You climb up the rocky terrain and arrive at a wide opening within the rock formation. You gaze inside and find that it is abandoned, aside from a sleeping bag unrolled on the floor.
