Go in the door?

Reluctantly, you decide to go into the doorway.
You open it up as it makes a loud creaking sound. The talking suddenly becomes louder, and you can see an orange light glowing at the end of the hall.
At the end of the hallway, you walk into a large room. There are large cloths coming down from the ceiling, both next to a large altar. In front of the altar is a very large flame. Dozens of men dressed in cloaks chant around the fire and the altar, saying incomprehensible things.
Oddly, they pay no attention to you. The tallest person starts to chant louder, and the others stop the chant.
A dark vortex starts to form in the fire.
