DIM Search the Coast
From Create Your Own Story
The jungle could be especially dangerous at night, you think to yourself before heading down along the wide beach, still dimly lit by the setting sun. You end up having to walk for what feels like hours on the cold sand, but the meal from earlier seems to have given you enough energy to do so.
A faint memory of your family and the plane crash still haunts you, but you quickly try to shrug it off and surpress it. However, you can't escape the fact that it'd be nice to have someone to talk to, be it a survivor or an animal. The last thing you want is to get mad from loneliness and start talking to trees or your own reflection in the water. Maybe some survivors had been washed up elsewhere on the island?
However, your thoughts get interrupted by an impressive sight. The beach suddenly changes into a tiny, tiny cove sheltered by a steep mountain wall. The most important thing that catches your eye, however, is the large opening in the mountain. A cave.
You enter it with caution, tossing a rock inside just to be sure there aren't any animals sleeping in it. And once you're certain there aren't any, you enter.
It's a tiny cave, that much is clear. Barely ten meters deep and with a roof high enough for you to stand upright. The ground is littered with sand, and it's only slightly warmer than the outside. Regardless, it has walls and a roof, which should provide protection from both rain, wind and sun. The cold sand should be soft enough for you to sleep on as well.
And as you lay down next to the cave-wall, you can't help but to feel a little bit better. Not only did you find your own food, but you also found shelter. Any doubts you might have had about survival earlier suddenly disappeared. You could make it here. You were going to make it here.
