D&D: Decide to stay in the battle ring

You decline his offer and head back to the equipment room to choose another set of gear. You're not so weak that you'd let Hansel's actions stop you, even if you are focused on getting revenge later.
You throw on a thick gambeson, one that would normally be too hot for a fight during the day, but you know what once you go out at night, the extra warmth will be welcomed. You take an spear and a sturdy wooden shield, plus a knife in your boot so nothing will take you by surprise again.
The battle ring's night event won't be simple one to one fighting. A skirmish of ten versus ten will take place, each team with a torch on either side of the ring. As soon as your team possesses both torches, you win. You don't normally do these, but right now you're angry, and you can't wait to hear the shower of coins.
There's only the matter of where you're going to be when the fighting starts.
