YOU: I grew up on a backwater colony world outside main space. I always wanted to go train at the Academy, but Uncle Lars always needed me for the harvest, you know. Still, I knew: Someday, I was gonna get off this rock. Then one day, I got back from talking to Ol' Ben Kenobi to find my house destroyed and my colony killed by slavers. I hung around my destroyed house for a bit, at kind of a loose end. With them out of the way, I figured I might as well just leave. I signed up with the Alliance and never looked back.
JACOB: uh... No. Wrong answer.
YOU: ... I think I know my own childhood, dude.
JACOB: The file knows better. According to this, you spent your first years growing up as an orphan on an unspecified grimy, overcrowded metropolis on Dystopian Future Earth. Times were tough. You had to make my living as a lovable street urchin, making witty remarks in an English accent and picking pockets in a battered top hat. Then you got to old for the Urchin thing, had to go into business as a lovable rogue- then the bottom dropped out of that market and you joined the Alliance Military.
YOU: So, wait, I don't actually get to choose, here? I thought this was where I actually set the decisions.
JACOB: Nup. If you don't have a save from the first game, we just pick some default decisions.
