Captain Freeguard takes you to the morgue.
From Create Your Own Story
You follow the offensive Captain down into the bowels of Scotland Yard, the smell of rot and mold heavy in the air. You enter the London Morgue, the greatest repository of death the city has to offer after the catacombs. You see a dozen stone tabels, covered in white sheets stained with large dark spots of dried blood, foretelling the contents beneath. Captain Freegaurd takes you over to the first of the tables and dramatically whips back the sheet, revealing a corpse.
Or at least some of a corpse, so mangled and desicrated it was dificult to identify at first. It was the body of a young woman in her twenties at most, her corpse torn to shredded peices, her stomach opened and the organs crudely removed. You've seen terrible death before so you examine the body closer without flinching, studying the places where the joints of her hips had been torn apart.
Freeguard snorts behind your back. "Takes a cold hearted woman to not flinch in the sight of such unpleasentness." You ignore him. "All 13 of them, all mangled the same way. We figure the annaversery of the Ripper case is coming along, maybe these bodies are the work of a copycat...really not worth your concern actually..."
You resist the urge to tear Freeguard apart the same way these women were; if he was so certain why did he drag you here? Because of course, the captain was wrong.
"The Ripper used a knife and dissected his victims with purpose..." you say coldly. "These women have been torn apart by hand...there is no room for that connection."
Freeguard bristles. "There is more of course. All of these women were prostitutes, just like the Ripper case..."
"The one thing London has plenty of Captain..." you dismiss. "If only this city had as many blueboys with common sense I wouldn't be dragged down here to your dreadful city. This is not a Ripper copycat."
You turn and begin to leave. You've seen all you need for now but you need to think; something about these bodies seems familiar...
"Where are you off to then?!" Badgers the captain, following after you.
"I am not a detective Captain, I am a hunter...you may fiddle with clues but I have the jungle of London to explore..."
"You will of course inform me of any leads you may receive before doing anything Miss Van Helsing!" he yells after you.
"How about I bring you his head and call it even?" you call back, annoyed. "Good evening Captain..."
