Bug out of the vehicle and run to cover

Gripping your AK-47 in your leather-gloved right hand, you leap out of the Jeep while it's still moving. Firing blindly behind you, you bolt for the cover behind the low hill. Bullets strike the desert sand, some only inches from your booted feet. Others hit your Jeep. One bullet hits the gas tank and blows up the vehicle with a spectacular orange fireball. Hurling yourself over the crest of the hill with a powerful leap, you tumble down the other side. Coming to a rest at the bottom of the hill, you check your body for holes. None. Good. You reload your assault rifle. You still have three spare magazines for it. Your heart beats rapidly as you ponder your next move.
