"Why don't you put in a movie?" you ask.
"Sure thing," he says. There is something in his voice that you can't quite place, but ignore whatever it happens to be.
You sit in your usual spot, which enables you to watch the movie and talk to John.
"This is one that just came out," he says. "I don't think you've seen it."
"That sounds good to me," you say. "I always like watching something new with you."
You catch a little smile on his face and wonder about the movie. You think it must be a good one if he is acting like this.
He opens the bag he brought with him and pulls out the video. You wait with anticipated excitement as he walks over and inserts the disc before heading back to his spot on the couch. He reaches for the remote and presses play.
