B&HB: Offer to go in his place

"Papa..." you quietly speak up, as you can't bear to Father suffer either, "how are you supposed to return to that castle."
"He told me that all I had to do was imagine it, and it would appear."
"Then..." you pause and take a deep breath, "let me go in your stead."
Father's eyes widen in shock, as that was the last thing he wanted you to say. "Belle... no... no, Belle." he cries, "I've lived my life, you have only started yours. You cannot go in my place. I cannot lose you... not you."
"Papa, I don't want to see you suffer so. You have suffered so much already. Perhaps I could convince him that..."
"No." you father interrupts. "He will not accept anything, other than a life for that which I stole."
"But you didn't do anything wrong!" you cry.
"He does not see it that way."
Your lips tremble with sadness, and you rush off to your room. You fall down onto your bed and cry into your pillow. You cannot accept that your father is willingly going off to his death. You refuse to accept it. This has to be some sort of terrible dream, and feel that you'll wake up any moment, where things will go back to normal. But you never do. This is real, and tomorrow morning, you father will be gone forever.
