The survivor hesitates for a moment, unsure of your intentions. After several moments he nods and sheaths his sword. "If you would please follow me princess, and umm...give me the spear."
"No, I will keep the spear." You still aren't sure if you can trust this man, and thus you decide that it would be best if you remain armed for now. You follow him, stepping carefully around his dead companion and the slowly spreading pool of blood.
It is a short walk to the throne room, and the man announces you as you enter. "My lord" he calls "The princess, as you requested."
As you step into the room you quickly notice that several things are very wrong. Before you have the chance to react you feel several pairs of hands grabbing at you. The spear is yanked from your hands and you are forced to your knees. You struggle, but you are outnumbered, and your captors are stronger than you. They twist one of your arms painfully behind your back and half drag, half carry to you the foot of the throne. The man sitting upon it is not the king, nor is he a man you recognize. As you continue to struggle you notice a body lying dead beside the throne. It is the king, your father.
