A young man, 19-22
From Create Your Own Story
The city of St. Louis is a writhing mass of human excitment as you walk it's croweded streets. The sun brings unnecasary warmth and all around you are fellow men and women burning to drive west. Wagon trains are being prepared, men haul supplies from the backs of stores hoping they will last the long journey. River boats and smaller crafts wait for men to sail them upriver. Men in buckskins and moccasins with racoon skin hats move through the crowds, their horses and mules laden with the furs of animals they trapped, you see them with their guns and sun burnt skin, eyes cold and steady like a river of steel. Despite the dust mud and human stench you feel alive, possesed by what they call Westward fever. That relentless urge to leave civilization behind and find what is beyond the map borders. There are many paths to choose. You have but to make up your mind and for better or worse you will embark on a journey that will define the country for years to come
