You find a help wanted ad for a local cafe. They're looking for employees who can wait tables to support their rebranding and renovation.

You figure it's best to show up in person, so without calling or contacting them at all, you put on male clothes and show up as the person on your ID, Joseph, though you bring makeup out of habit. They're still finishing renovations so they're not open to customers, but one of the employees directs you to the general manager's office.

You knock on the door. "Come in." You hear from the other side. You walk in. "Have a seat." He says. "I'm assuming this is about a job or you wouldn't be here."

"Yes sir." You say.

"You don't need to call me sir, my name is Greg." He says. He extends his hand and you shake it.

"Sorry. My name is, uh, Joseph." You hesitate a bit.

"Well, Joseph, the only positions we have open right now are for wait staff, and well, most of our previous wait staff quit because of the way we're rebranding." He says. "And it's because of this rebranding that I'm afraid right off the bat I can't give you a job as a waiter here."

"Oh. Um, if you don't mind my asking, why is that?" You ask.

"Well, we're not employing waiters as such anymore. Though, if you're interested in returning as a customer," he pulls a plastic covered uniform out from a closet behind him. A maid's uniform, "this is what our waitresses will be wearing. We're becoming a maid cafe. They are becoming more popular here and none have opened in the area yet, so we thought we'd jump on it before someone else did."

You stare at the maid outfit, considering it for a few seconds before speaking again. "So, how does a maid cafe work that's different from an ordinary cafe, then?" You ask.

"Well, the main attraction is obviously the waitresses, the maids. They wear these uniforms and they must refer to the customer as Master or Mistress and treat them accordingly. They must not slip out of character, reveal personal info, or allow the customers to see them out of uniform." He says. "While customers will not be allowed to touch or take pictures of the maids, we're considering offering other services for extra. Massages, feeding customers by hand, playing games with the maids. The whole structure of the cafe will be different, the only thing that isn't changing much is the menu."

"That sounds... very interesting." You say, still staring at the uniform.
