"First Poonani... Then Krustipanti... Finally, Humpus."
From Create Your Own Story
The hunchback nods once, deeply, and you breathe a deep sigh of relief. He gestures for you to proceed along the bridge, but calls out one last verse of advice:
"Beware the lair of the cave-demon's maze,
"For traps as deadly as Medusa's gaze,
"Greet those, with the most diresome plight,
"Who turn down paths not to the right."
Quickly – fearing any more traps – you hurry across the rope bridge, leaving the crooked Goblin to mutter to himself. You are rather grateful when your foot touches the grass on the other side.
You follow the path over the crest of the hill and down into the next valley. It is now late afternoon. Some way down the hill you stop for a rest, and sit on a boulder to survey what lies ahead. The path leads downwards and at its foot, cradled between three peaks, is a village – a quite a large one at that, compared to that mournful spot you have just passed through.
You hop down from the boulder and make your way forward, when an overhanging branch touches your face and you hear a lively chirping.
You turn quickly around. Hovering by your shoulder is a small naked woman, the size of a bird. Her skin glows faintly, and she flits around you on transparent wings. She even lands on your shoulder, her tiny feet brushing lightly against your tunic.
