Before Marie can even see you, a shot from the Taser finishes her. You drop your weapons to the ground.

You close your eyes and try to process what's happening. Is the nightmare over? You open your eyes again to see a TV camera and crew approaching.

"The winner of Battle Royale, Karen Andrews!" the announcer booms, sticking a microphone in your face. "How'd you do it, Karen?"

"Strategy, teamwork, and quick reflexes. I had my shot at the end and took it."

"Did you plan to take the lighthouse right away?"

"Yes. Once Shania and Damien joined me, and we realized it was Zeke holding it, I figured 3-on-1 we could take it from him."

"What do you plan to do now?"

"Forget about all this. I'm not Zeke, I don't enjoy killing."

"And there you have it!" the announcer says. "Tune in next year at a new location for the next Battle Royale!"

After the TV crew leaves, a man appears with a check. "I'm the sponsor," he says. "Here's your $200,000. Now let's get you home."

6 months of therapy later, you make your peace with having been in Battle Royale. The $200,000 goes mostly on a nice college education and the leftovers get you off to a good start in life.
