“That’s about it,” you say.

Claire looks at you testily. “So what you’re saying is that nothing really happened.”

“I guess,” you admit sheepishly.

“This is unreal!” Claire yells. “You mean that I drop you into a camp of 30 teenage girls, at least half of which have some sort of interest in sex and very limited supervision, set you up as their chaperone, and you can’t figure out how to get into any of their panties?”

“Um…” you stammer.

“Really? Really?” Claire continues. “How pathetic are you?” Desperately trying to salvage this situation, you suggest, “I wanted to save myself for you two.”

“How admirable,” Claire says sarcastically. “We didn’t want you ‘saved.’” She takes Lin by the hand and walks her to the door. “Let’s get out of here and forget about this pathetic loser.”

They storm out the door, never to be seen from again.

Next time, if there ever is one, maybe you’ll take better advantage of the situation.
