You snaps back to reality and this time even blush slightly at being caught before finally you remembers something. You quickly reaches into your pocket and takes out your mobile phone as you asks him, "Can we exchange numbers?"
Again, Tim raises his eyebrows, most likely shocked at the out-of-character and out-of-the-blue request. His eyes suddenly narrows as he speaks, his voice clearly says that he's suspecting you, "What are you planning?"
Shocked at the sudden coldness lacing his words, you can't help but wonder if you had said something wrong as you stutter slightly as you answers, "No... nothing. I just... thought maybe we can... umm... hang out... or something."
You unconsciously gulps nervously as Tim's mood seem to worsen even further while you're not even sure which part of you request had offended him. His tone is ice cold and sharp as blade as he replies, "So you can humiliate and make fun of me in front of your clique? Don't screw with me! What do you take me for? an idiot?"
Suddenly, you realizes where you had gone wrong. You're the popular school cheerleader and he's the relatively outcast nerd, one of the unpopular kids so to speak.
