History: Lady Katryna is the first and only child of the Duke of Saintraille, Shorne de Saintraille. As the heir to his duchy, Duke Shorne could not allow his daughter to marry any lord's son. Instead, on Katryna's sixteenth birthday, Duke Shorne married his daughter to the Emperor of Vrioyavan, Helmut d'Astarae the Third. With this marriage, Shorne was able to tie his family closely into Imperial politics. Katryna herself fell in love with Helmut and was married happily. They ruled together for almost forty years together, having two sons and a daughter. The oldest son, Helmut the Fourth, is the heir to Aegremonth and, if his mother has her way, the Empire. In turn, the second son Lucan is heir to Saintraille. Upon Duke Shorne's death, Lucan will take the name de Saintraille and become the Duke. Her daughter Mirabelle is a rambunctious and free-willed girl, who's only wish is to meet a knight who will take her on an adventure. Katryna herself planned to be Empress until her death. Unfortunately, all those plans were ruined by the Emperor's untimely death while hunting. Now, the Council of Regents have called all the Elector-Princes to Aegremonth to vote for the new Emperor. Will Katryna be willing to do whatever it takes to see her son on the throne?
