You sigh and close your book. It doesn't seem like you're going to get any work done today anyways. You go to the shop ledger and flick through the pages.
'My name's Evelyn Smith,' the blonde says. 'The appointment's in my name.'
'I'm sorry Evelyn, but it seems your appointment was for next week.'
'But we're going on holiday tomorrow,' Evelyn says. She turns to the redhead. 'Rachel I thought I told you to book it for today.'
The redhead shrugs. 'I guess I forgot. My bad...'
'You're going to have a decent haircut Rachel, whether you like it or not. I'm not taking you on holiday looking like that.'
Rachel's thunderous expression intensifies. Evelyn turns to you. 'Well, you look a bit young, but I guess you'll have to do.'
Wait. What? 'I'm sorry...' you start.
'You don't have any other bookings for today, do you?'
'No, but...'
'Look,' the blonde says, 'I'm in a bit of a hurry. I'll pay you for another appointment if you want.' She pulls some money out of her purse, counts it out and holds it out to you. It's a struggle between telling the truth and earning a significant amount of money...
