The path North cuts through the Crystal Mountains, and is a hearty trade route from the ocean metropolis to the desert hub on the other side and even beyond. In between here and there is opportunity: the strong and stubborn dwarves, the mythical Frost Elves, the goblins and more.
Status is everything, and your clan determines that by number and rarity of mate. You could easily shrug off your "runt" status and than some by mating someone from this region. It's going to take some time to get there, especially with your equipment, but this gives you the time to come up with some semblance of a plan.
