Curiosity and hope draw you to the edge of the larger tide pool as the waves start to fill the area. It takes a little while for you to find the item that caught your eye, but you pull it out as soon as you see it. It's a little gold pocket watch. It clicks open when you press on the clasp at the top, revealing the face of the watch and a small circular window of glass in the center through which you can see the gears inside turning. On the inside of the gold-plated lid is an engraved inscription: To ST from JM. This tell you nothing. Are you JM or ST? Does this watch have anything to do with you at all, or is it just a random accessory that just happened to wash ashore from another shipwreck years ago?
The tide is rising and you need to get off these rocks before the waves knock you over. You pocket the watch and survey the beach. The tree line of the jungle is well out of reach of the tide and you could easily outrun the waves, but you remember the cries for help you heard. Should you go see if you can help whoever is calling for you?
