Welcome to the story of Jo-Ann the librarian, a fantastic comedy adventure. You take the role of Jo-Ann, an adventurous, funny librarian and guide her through the day. However, this is not as boring as it may seem. Choose the right paths and Jo-Ann could fight a robber, explore a ruined city and do many more fantastic things. First, however, you must read the rules. Then click on "begin the adventure" to start!

How to fight

In a battle, you have 15 books. You may throw them at the enemy. The enemy's weapon, hit points and damage will be listed at the bottom of the screen.

In this battle, you may throw a book each turn. To determine if it hits, get a die. If you do not have a die handy, bookmark this virtual die. Poke the paper with your eyes closed. if Jo-Ann gets a 1, 2 or 3, her book hits, and does 5 points of damage to the enemy. Otherwise, it misses. If Jo-Ann runs out of books, she will attack with a ruler. It will hit on a 1 or 2 and does 2 points of damage. she has a fresh supply of books every fight. You have 30 hit points.

The enemy attacks every turn. Enemies have different amounts of damage, hits and weapons.

If Jo-ann wins, she gains valuable experience points. For more on experience points, so Winning on the main Jo-Ann page.

Now you know how to fight. So go find a thief, slacking librarian or giant bookworm...

Jo-Ann's library magic

Jo-Ann has many different magic spells she can cast. They are all listed below:

Enchant Book: animates a book that will fight for you in one battle. It has 5 hits and does 2 points of damage with its heavy cover.

Heal Self: Heals you for 5 points of damage.

Paper Cut: Jo-Ann give the victim a paper cut that does 2 points of damage to him and makes him do 1 less damage.

Library Curse: The victim is attacked by the magical forces of the library and instantly disinagrated. You win automaticlly.

Sue: You bring the victim to supreme court and manage to sue him for 1,000 dollars. This makes the victim lose his confidence and do one less point of damage and lose 3 hit points on a battle.

These can all only be used once and hit automatically.

You can gain more spells at times.

Winning

Jo-Ann wins by becoming the director of the library. You may get "promotions" at times, and each time, you go up one level. You start as a "librarian 3rd class" and must advance through several levels to become the director. At each time where you get a promotion, there is a button that say "victory" on it. However, do NOT press this button unless you have advanced through five levels (keep track of the levels in your head or on a piece of paper).

At times you may gain experience points. After every 10000 exp. points you gain, Jo-Ann gains one level.

There are other ways to win; however, these are side quests and the ways to win at them are not mentioned in this section.

If you get victory, a short description of what happens to you will appear, then, you are Jo-Ann the director.
