Karen lifts up the fence to make the hole bigger for you to slip through and after getting your swimsuit caught a bit on a broken piece of the fence you manage to squeeze through. You hold the fence for her and she doesn't have any issues getting inside.
"Okay, it's this way," she says, taking off in the direction opposite the hole in the fence. The place is so overgrown you can't really tell which way is which so you just follow her. It's hard to believe that there is actually an abandoned house in here somewhere.
The crack of a rifle going off and dirt popping up just in front of Karen makes her stop dead in her tracks. You try to stop but she stops so abruptly that you run into her and you both come crashing to the ground.
A growl fills the air as you quickly realize this girl's friend is a damned liar.
A middle-aged man with a bit of a beer gut, wearing a tank top and torn up jeans approaches the two of you. He has a double-barreled shotgun slung under his arm, popped open, and is in the middle of inserting a fresh bullet when you spot him. The growling comes from the large pitt bull walking along beside him, with no leash on it.
"She lied to me..." the woman mutters, "or was just being more of an idiot that usual... "
Do you:
- Try to talk it out with the guy?
- Attack him before he can finish reloading?
- Stand up, help Karen up, and wait and see what he says?
