Catch up for no reason
From Create Your Own Story
You tell her "I've thought about you every now and then."
"And I've thought of you every 2 or 3 months, wondering what ever happened to you. What you were like in High School, did you make the football team, marry the Homecoming Queen. While I'm stuck living a nightmare, crying myself to sleep every time I have a fight with my husband, and even trying to kill myself once or twice, without him ever finding out. Some nights, I'd even think about you, wondering if we ever met up again, could I maybe have a happier life."
"No," you speak slowly, "I hated high school, I didn't make the team, I was a loser then, and a loser now."
She grabs your hand, and pulls you in for a hug. "You are not a loser in my eyes."
"But I am," you begin.
"Stop," she interrupts, "I still care for you. Do you even remember what happened?"
"We kissed, and hours later you broke up with me."
"Not quite." She speak softly, trying to calm you, "Yes, we kissed, it freaked me out, and I was hanging out with a bad friend who told me she heard you talking to your buddies about scoring with me, and so I wrote you a letter, and you must have wrote back saying everything was fine, but I didn't get the letter because I had switched lockers since ours were so far down the math hall it was out of the way. And since I hadn't heard back, she convinced me to break up with you, and I was a sucker for you, and everything about you that I couldn't face you without breaking down, so she called and said I was unable to speak. But I never stopped thinking about you."
"See, I'm such a loser!"
She puts her hand up to stop you from speaking, "I don't care what you say, and it would make me very happy if you would stop saying negative things about yourself." She drops her gaze to the ground, "If you care about me, you will."
"Fine, if you ask me, how I am, I just won't answer."
"Let's talk about something happy." She pleads.
"Like what? My life..."
She stops you before you can finish, "Don't say it." She gives you an evil eye.
You just look down.
"We could go see a movie, if I had any money. Or, we could just walk around."
What do you do?
