Long have you waited for your father to return from the war. But not like this, never like this. The King has returned to the capital with his tail between his legs. His armies are shattered, his will sapped, and he looks as though in five years he has aged ten. You father may not be long for this world, and you are his heir. Should he die, this war he has fought will be yours to inherit along with his kingdom. You're nervous but you're determined not to fail in your duty, whatever the cost. But with Orcs now laying siege, their troops at the foot of the Greatwall, what constitutes your duty seems to be a lot more than you bargained for.
As the night draws in, you retire to your chambers alone. Usually, you have servants who come and help you undress, who draw you a bath or bring you supper. Today, however, you have called for no aid. You wish simply for peace to think as comes more daunting the idea of military service to defend your nation.
Explicitly against your wishes, however, as you begin to disrobe and ponder the issues of the day, your door swings open.
