Long have you commanded your armies to avoid this scenario. Long have you campaigned and fought and lost before it came to this. Your men are tired and wounded and their morale is low, but the war is not over and rest is not here yet. The enemy stands at the foot of the Greatwall and your armies stand above and ready. The siege has begun.
The night has drawn in but you cannot sleep. As you stare out upon the city from the balcony of your palace chambers, you hear a knock at the door. Your Marshal enters with apparently new word from the front.
He says,
