If an entire major politcal party is destroyed overnight, it's likely that in the next set of elections, the other major part y/ies will win big.
Since it's America, we're talking supermajorities in almost every House, state and federal, plus almost all executive positions, state and federal.
But you forgot the kill the Libertarians, the Green, the Reform party, Independants...
Plus those who aren't registered Republicans, but are almost there (Republican children, people who quit because they didn't like how the party was going) who will resurect the party.
There will be opposition.
The Democrats will have a clear run of it for the first decade, maybe? But then minor parties, Independants and a rebuilt Republican party can take them on again.
Plus, you killed, what, a million people? More?
- Undo! Undo!
- Screw 'em. They were bastards.
- Endorse a Libertarian candidate.
- Endorse a Greens candidate.
- Endorse an Independant candidate.
- Endorse a Republican.
- Endorse a Democrat.
