Please allow actions to happen. You do not need to have 'began to' or 'started to' in front of so many verbs. It begins to get tiresome reading about things starting to begin to happen instead of just happening!
You might also want to review punctuation with dialogue. And don't forget to hyphenate compound modifiers!
